It JUKARI, No Jakar. They make very decent reproduction weapons .... if yours is a modern reproduction. They were often sold as kit. Antique Style
Can you identify the style of antique furniture from a description of the back and legs of chairs?
I have a dining room Antique set in September and want to identify the style / period of furniture. The backs of the chairs is similar to Queen Anne, however, turned legs and right (Vertical corner seat on the floor) not carved or cabriolet. There are many details in the turn (counts wide, narrow, above the world and urn shapes with concave cuts running vertically leg). The upper legs are square, as is the point where spacers on the fixed leg. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the old terminology. Anyone can identify this style (I can provide photos) or I point to an easy to use visual cues?

Does anyone know how to open a locked antique desk that uses a skeleton key?
I have a Large Antique style desk with a roll top cover. It locks with a skeleton type key. When I moved the top of the desk was rolled down and the key is lost. I have tried popping the lock, sticking things in the whole to open it, took off the plate surrounding the key whole. The plate says mona lisa, don't know if that helps anyone figure out the type of desk. There is no way to get into the lock but with the key. Help!!!!
The first thing you need to do is determine what type of skeleton key is needed, ie: is it one that requires the lock to go "into" the key (the key will have a hole in the middle), or is it one that has a solid key, thus when put into the hole it pushes the lock thus allowing the key to turn. Is Open University a good idea to 'retrain' into a new career?
I am 28 Years Old and have been working in the print trade as a mac operator / repro manager for 10 years now and would love the opportunity to retrain into another career.
The main problem is I cannot afford to give up work and retrain, so wondered if choosing an Open University 'undergraduate' course could be the answer to progress into something with better prospects for the future (and more exciting!)?
I just registered with a course through the open university and i would recommend them to anyone, they have a large range of courses to take in every different level from introduction to degrees. You can take a course that will only take 9 months to complete doing 8 hours a week. They can be quite expensive but they offer, payment plans and you might be able to get financial help and course grants. Defiantly take a look and see what they have.
